Courses in January include Plant hunting in 19th and early 20th century China, watercolour painting, the Medieval Scottish Border landcape, Russian Music, yoga, Drawing Caricatures, the Battle of Britain and the history of Opera. Longborough Festival Opera

The highly acclaimed Longborough Opera opens it's 2007 season with a new production of Das Rheingold. Longborough has already produced the complete Ring in a "reduced" cersion, to great acclaim. The new production will be a full-length version, and with an orchestra of over 50 players. Since it's first performance at Munich in 1869 the Ring has never been produced in a private opera house. This great event will be marked by three performances in June. The season will be completed by performances of Eugene Onegin and Coi fan tutte. At Longborough, quality opera is served up in an informal and relaxed atmosphere. Performances have long intervals for picnicking or dining in picturesque surroundings.

The walk takes place in June and is a series of four fun and healthy fundraising walks high over the escarpment above Cheltenham and around the valleys and villages back to the start point at the Racecourse. Walkers can choose one of four very different walks, or can take on the challenge of doing all four, to make a challenging circular walk of twenty six miles.

Three Choirs Festival
August 2007
Three Choirs is one of the oldest music festivals in the world, and is still one of the most highly regarded festivals of classical music in Britain. Based each year in Gloucester, Worcester or Hereford, in 2007 the Festival returns to Gloucester, with the magnificent Cathedral and other buildings playing host to a programme that includes a tribute to Elgar on the 150th anniversary of his birth, plus works by Britten, Howells, Vaughn Williams, Bax and others.
